Intro

We love Alaska. It may take the rest of our lives, but we are determined to see every corner of this beautiful state. Fun fact for Texans reading this blog -- Alaska is FOUR TIMES bigger than Texas ;) Yep, its gonna take a while.

We cruised the inside passage on the Coral Princess back in 2012, and were amazed by the beauty of South East Alaska. Unfortunately, a day in port is simply not enough time to fully appreciate all these towns have to offer. Glacier Bay was a highlight on our 2012 trip, so our first stop will be the tiny town of Gustavus. While there we are going out in the Glacier Bay National Park catamaran for a day, we will whale watch with TAZ in Icy Straight, do a little paddling in sea kayaks, and enjoy James Beard award winning cuisine at Glacier Bay Inn one evening.

We will spend time in Juneau, but far away from downtown with all the cruise ship traffic, and will also spend a week in Haines. Finally, we'll wrap things up with a few days in Seattle, exploring Whidbey Island and city attractions.

Vacation can't come soon enough! Meanwhile, for another taste of Alaska, visit my (mostly finished) travel blog 61.1822° N, 148.5569° W = Heaven which details our last trip 2013 trip to the interior and Kenai Pennisula.
